Curti S.r.l. - company owned by Euricom since 1994 - is the most important Italian rice refinery and one of the most important in Europe. It is the owner of the historic Curtiriso brand, as well as a leader in the private label sector in Italy and the European Union.

Located in Valle Lomellina - in the province of Pavia - Curti S.r.l. is based in the heart of one of the largest rice’s growing areas in the country; its headquarters is in one of the oldest and most traditional Italian farms, active since 1875 and pioneer in the packaged rice sector. The brand always played an important role in the country's food industry.

A quality promoter respecting the environment, Curti invested in clean energy: in 1996, it built a biomass thermal power plant of 4.5 in Valle Lomellina, where it uses agricultural residues such as rice straw and processing by-products.

Curti has obtained the authorization to produce organic rice and entered the large-scale retail market by supplying the major distribution chains in the Italian market with its own brands, especially Curtiriso.

The Curtiriso brand is present in the most important national and European chains. It holds about 5% of the Italian market share, has a leading position in some regions and is distributed in more than 40 countries worldwide. Curtiriso is a synonym of high-quality rice produced with respect for the environment, tradition and food safety.

Curti cooperates with the Ministry of the Environment and invests resources in the «Carbon Footprint» project, with the aim of establishing CO2 emissions for each Curtiriso product, monitoring their lif(e cycle from paddy rice to the finished product. Curtiriso is the first rice in Europe to be the result of a CO2 = ZERO Budget process, whereby any greenhouse gas emissions from energy consumption are fully compensated through the production of energy from renewable sources, endorsing the values of the Durban protocols and Kyoto.

The company is a European centre of excellence, both for the continuous qualitative and technical growth and for the attention to environmental sustainability.
